As I reflect on being broker/owner of Covington Real Estate, Inc., I have to think about the threads along the way that created the tapestry in which I find myself. Being raised in a military family taught me to embrace change and appreciate the service of our soldiers. Having a twenty year career in the banking industry taught me good business practices and the importance of customer service. Being a top producer for a franchise real estate office required education, excellence in client relationships, and an abundance of hard work! But then came a tugging at my heart to get out of my "comfort zone" and start a new business. With the encouragement of family and friends, and after much prayer, Covington Real Estate, Inc. was born in the spring of 2003.
Starting a brand new business is scary, but being called to a ministry doesn't usually involve a clear road map and an easy path. So, day one I started with a lot of faith and no clients! Fast forward to today, along with the wonderful real estate agents I sponsor, we have helped countless clients through heartbreaking circumstances, joyful beginnings, and exciting transitions. Being associated with other professionals who take their jobs seriously with dedication, expertise, and compassion has been a highlight of my years in business. Being able to make decisions on a personal level rather than having to follow rules dictated by a larger corporation has allowed us to adapt to the needs of our clients on a local and intimate level.
Yes, we drive nice cars and show pretty houses but there is so much more! We work hard to understand our clients' motivation for selling or buying. We try to treat them like we would our own family, making their wants and needs a priority! The process of selling or buying a home can have a lot of twists and turns, but we try to minimize the surprises and plan for a smooth transaction. Knowing that we helped a family buy their first home, helped a senior adult transition to assisted living, facilitated selling a home in order to allow a family to move to something larger, or found that acreage for relaxation and recreation is what makes us eager to work every day. The relationships we have formed over the years are lasting - threads in our beautiful tapestry.
